I am trying my best to play catch up!

The Texas Rangers

We love to go watch the Texas Rangers. We are going to miss being so close to where they play. We will have to follow them from a distance now that we are in Oklahoma. This game was especially fun since the Rangers came back to win the game with a home run! Go Rangers!!!!

Blake's Golden Birthday

Blake turned 9 years old this year. His birthday started out with his last baseball game. After baseball, we came back for some traditional birthday pancakes. We had some of his favorite cake (the kind with the blue almond frosting). He got a new football and a catchers glove that he was pumped to test out. We finished the day with a family outing to see the Texas Rangers.

Kid Pitch Baseball

Blake played his last season with the Indians. He played kid pitch and it was a really great experience. It definitely slowed down the game a lot, but it was so fun to see him pitch. He is working on his pitching speed, but he is pretty accurate. He is also starting to like being the catcher. We are going to miss playing with the Indians so much! Blake is really going to miss his friend Andrew. They played together for about five seasons.

Trey is FIVE!

Trey had his first birthday party with friends this year. He has really been into donuts, so instead of a birthday cake, we had a donut cake. It was a big hit with all the kids. We played a lot of water games and Trey had a great time. He is really interested in dinosaurs, so we got him a box full of them to play with. We are so glad that he is a part of our family.

The Big Dance Recital

Sydney had her big dance recital in June. These pictures were from her recital dress rehearsal. She really loves to dance and I am really glad that she got to do it with her cousin this year. I will not be sad that our new dance place in Oklahoma has shorter recitals though. Five hours was a little overkill for me!

Girls Camp in Oklahoma

I was one of the girl's camp directors for our ward this past year. I was able to take a little vacation to Oklahoma with some pretty awesome girls from my church. Even though we didn't have air conditioning, we managed to have a great time. I have a lot of great memories from camp and I am going to miss all the girls so much! It was great being a Heritage Lovely!

And there is May....now maybe on to June-August tomorrow

at least of have a good excuse for being so far behind!

Caprock

We went camping for Memorial Day and it was an adventure! I think the highs were around 106, which equals a pretty miserable camping experience. What did people do before they had air conditioning? We did manage to get in some pretty hikes before we cut our trip short.

Sydney's kindergarten graduation

Sydney had a great year of kindergarten and finshed the year reading chapter books! She loved her teacher Mrs. Nartz and made so many friends.

Farewell preschool here I come kindergarten!

I taught Trey's preschool class for the last time in May. It was bitter sweet. We had a really great group of all boys this year. I read the boys the book "I'll love you forever." Yikes, I was crying like a baby! I am so glad that I had the opportunity participate in a co-op preschool with all of my kids.

BlastBall Brewers

Trey play his second season of blastball and this season was extra special because he had such a great coach (his dad). He had a good time and played hard all season.

Mayfest Disaster

My niece, Renee', and daughter, Sydney, had a little performance at Mayfest in downtown Fort Worth this spring. Tiffany was out of town for the weekend, so I was in charge of getting both girls all dolled up and down to Fort Worth for their performance. To make a long story short, traffic was beyond horrific and we could not get anywhere close to where we need to be in our van, so Nick let us out and I crossed four lanes of traffic with two girls in bright lime green outfits. I was doubtful that we even made it on time for their performance, but we ran as fast as we could to see if we missed it or not. In the process of running, Sydney was crying that she had side stitches and Renee' totally tripped me and I fell flat on my face! Well, we made it to the performance stage and their group walked onto the stage right as we ran up. I shouted to them to just go on and Sydney looked down and was upset that she didn't have her tap shoes on. Both her and Renee' were still in their crocs. There was no time to spare, so they performed their tap routine in crocs and I won the best mom of the year award. Better luck next time :-)
