It is Great to be Eight!

Blake turned eight years old yesterday and we had a fun day. We had planned to go to the water park with some of his friends, but we had to postpone those plans because of the rainy weather. We ended going to Let's Jump with cousins instead. After about two hours on nonstop jump house fun, we headed back to our house for one of Blake's favorite dinners, tacos. We all saved room for cake and ice cream and presents. Blake got art kits from his aunt, a baseball game from us, and all of his new cub scout gear. He is joining pack 409 and already got to attend his first den meeting. He is really excited to earn a lot of awards. He is anxious to be baptized. We are planning on August 7th at the Colleyville Stake Center at 10am for all those who are interested in attending.

Trophy Club Splash Park

Nick designed the new Trophy Club splash park and my kids have been dieing to try it out. The park opens today, but my kids got to test it out yesterday with the city park's and rec person and his family. The kids were pumped to try out a never-been tested splash park and they had a really good time. It was great for the kids to get to see what their daddy does at work. Being a landscape architect never looked so fun! You did a great job, Nick, the park is beautiful!

T-man is four!

My baby is four years old now! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. He had a really fun filled day that started with our traditional birthday pancake breakfast. He wanted to have the pancakes be chocolate chip banana pancakes. They were prepared by Dad and he ate every last bite of that huge pancake.

After breakfast, we went to NRH2O with my sister and her kids. Trey has gotten really adventurous and will go on every slide that he is tall enough to ride.

After the water park, we met up with Dad at the movie theater to see Toy Story III. We went with Trey's cousin's and his girlfriend, Hannah Newman. I don't think he understands what girlfriend means, but he introduces her to everyone as his girlfriend, so we are just going with it. The movie was really cute and all the kids really liked it.

After the movie, it was home for cake and ice cream. Trey requested chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. He loves M&M's so that is how I decorated the cake.

Trey had fun opening presents. He plays with toys more than any of my kids, so it has been fun to see him really enjoy all his gifts.
