Donuts with Santa

The PTA at Blake's school organized a great activity where the kids had donuts and milk and then got to have their picture taken with Santa. Our kids were really excited. Blake asked for a rocket that blasts off, Trey asked for a Diego toy, and Sydney got cold feet and was too shy to ask for anything. When we were driving home she said that she was going to wait until Christmas Eve to tell Santa what she wants. The said this because last year we got a special visit from Santa to our home on Christmas Eve, but this year we are going to be in Tennessee at Nana's house and I am guessing that Santa won't be making an appearance. I may have to take her to the mall to make her request now.

The last picture is of our tree at home. Trey has had a really hard time leaving it alone. The other day I came out of the office and he had taken about 30 ornaments off the tree. He just didn't take them off, he pulled them off and left the hooks and top of each ornament hidden in the tree. He also broke several. I am only buying shatter proof ones from now on!

Trim that Christmas Tree

We decorated our Christmas tree for family home evening this week. The kids had a great time digging through all the decorations. Trey especially loves our Little People Nativity set. He has been playing with it all week!

The end of T-ball

Blake finished his first season of T-ball. He did really well and showed at lot of aptitude for the game. I think our baseball days are only beginning! He will be back in the spring.

Falling Leaves

Our little backyard trees have gotten really big in the four years that we have lived here. We have accumulated a lot of leaves in the yard and their are a ton more still on the trees. We decided to rake some of them up and had to take some time to jump in them. Trey missed all the action since he was napping. We will have to do it again when the rest of the leaves fall.

Happy Halloween

Trey was Peter Pan, Sydney was Tinkerbell, and I tried my hardest to convince Blake to be Captain Hook. I gave up and let him be Bumblebee from Transformers. Halloween was a lot easier before my kids were so opinionated. We had a good time at our church's Trunk-or-Treat. The kids got a ton of candy and we were especially blessed to have Nana and DaDaw with us for the weekend.

Pumpkin Carving Time

We had a great family home evening at our friends house, the Newmans. We had a girl jack-o-lantern and a boy jack-o-lantern. Sydney said that she liked her pumpkin because it had a scary bow. I didn't plan for the bow to be scary, but I must admit, it was a pretty scary looking bow!

Princess Cookbook

My friend, Katie, brought Sydney out a book that she was the editor for. it is a princess cook book. Sydney was so excited about it and wants to make everything that it is in it. We started out with these "unicorn horn" ice cream cones. They are dipped in white chocolate and then rolled in sprinkles. Sydney made them for family night. She was really proud! Thanks Katie!

Daddy Time

While I was away with my girlfriends for a weekend, Nick had the kids all to himself. They all had a blast. They went on a treasure hunt through the woods. Nick took these pictures with his camera phone.

Nine Years Later

It has been nine years since my freshman year college girls have all been together! We planned a fun girls weekend in Texas. Cynthia and I both live in Texas (only 10 minutes apart) so we won the toss up to have it here. Emily came in from Colorado, Katie from Utah, and Megan from Arizona. We picked up right where we left off and had so much fun together. We had some great meals, great deals, and tons of catching up. I was supposed to be getting some extra sleep, but since I see them so infrequently, I decided to stay up until five am talking instead! It was so fun to get together. I still love slumber parties! Thank you for all coming. I love you so much!

Dear Tooth Fairy...We need you at our house!

We were eating dinner in the airport last week as we were traveling to Salt Lake, when Blake announced that he had two loose teeth. I opened his mouth to examine his teeth and to my astonishment he had two very loose teeth with the big ones already coming out behind the baby ones. Blake doesn't like us to mess with them, but we convinced him to let us crank on them today and Nick got one out! Blake almost hyperventilated when he saw the blood, so needless to say, the other loose tooth is still in his mouth. He is pretty excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. I just can't believe that my baby is loosing his baby teeth already!

T-ball Game 1

Blake had his first T-ball game on Saturday. He did a great job and played pitcher, catcher, and outfield. He had two really great hits and made it the whole way home both times. He really likes it and it is fun to see him get so excited! I know that my grandfather who Blake was named after, would be so proud of him!

Ruby and I hanging out at the partyWe headed out to Utah for the weekend to attend Nick's grandfather's 90th birthday party. We had a great day that started out in the Salt Lake temple. Nick's grandfather has not been active in the church for the majority of this life, but he decided that he wanted to start to go to church again and we were able to go to the temple with him. It was so great wittiness all of Nick's father's brothers and sisters in the temple together with their parents for the first time. Thank you Em and Mike for watching our kids so that we could go! After the temple, we headed out to Grantsville for his birthday party. It was a special day and we are so blessed that we could go. Thanks to everyone that made this trip possible. We love you!

Park City, Utah

Emily's parents offered their Park City condo to us to use while we were in Utah. It is such a comfortable place and we always have such a great time there. We especially loved the fall weather and colors. We got to meet Ruby and Sydney was a little mother! She kept asking to hold her every couple of minutes. Ruby was making baby noises and Em asked Sydney what Ruby was saying and Syd said, "She says she wants to play tag!" Trey was pretty enchanted with Ruby as well. She is a doll, of course, and we are so happy to have her in our family.

Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah

Before Nick had to fly home on Sunday, I wanted to take the kids to see temple square. They are all dressed up for the football game that was on later that night. The flowers were gorgeous and we were able to get in a few good pictures, although the majority of them were not! The kids were good sports and kept posing for me. It takes divine interevention to be able to get a picture where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling!

Lo

I stopped in Logan for a couple of hours on my way up to Idaho to see Brielle' new baby. I couldn't be in Utah, even for a weekend without visiting my old stomping ground in Logan, UT. I stopped to see my best friend from Utah State, Lauree Myler. Her kids have grown up so fast. It seems like just yesterday that I was poking her six year old in the womb while we watched Alias. Times goes by so quickly, but it was so nice seeing Lauree. She is awesome and I still love her just as much as I did then!

Meeting Austin Kennington

I headed up to Rexburg, ID to get a little peak at my newest nephew, Austin. He is such a sweet heart. I tried to hold him every second that I could. It was also great to see Dane & Laurel, Jeff & Brielle, and my mom, who is out there helping out with the baby. I am so glad that I got to sneak up for a visit. Thank you, Marie, for watching the kiddos so I could go!
