Your Nieghborhood Turkey Trot

Last year, we went to Fort Worth for their Turkey Trot, we had a great time running, but it was really crowded and it took up a big part of our day. Tiffany and I decided to host a local Turkey Trot and it was a big success. We had 11 runners in the 10K and about three dozen for the 1 mile fun run. We posted over 60 signs to mark the coarse, got medals, made turkey awards for the kids, and got lots of good food and waters. I was really happy with how the race went. We had really cold and windy weather, but at least we stayed dry.

The best of Wisconsin comes to Texas!
Our good friends, Jake and Jen, came down from Wisconsin to visit us last month. We had such a great time with them. Our kids just adore both of them, and Jake was a great sport and watched all the kids while the girls went shopping for a bit. Hopefully we will be making a trip up to Wisconsin for a big event in their lives....

Trey's First Trophy
Trey got his first trophy for playing blast ball this fall. His team was the Giants, which was fun for him since they won the World Series this year. He wants to play again in the spring, so we will have more blast ball updates then.

Pumpkin Carving
In Texas, it is too hot in October to carve your pumpkins very early in the month. We always wait until the week of Halloween, but this year, we kept having scheduling conflicts, so it didn't happen for us until the day before Halloween. The kids were going crazy asking us when we were going to carve pumpkins. I will have to try harder to schedule them in next year.
